Interview Process
During the contextual inquiry process, we interviewed users and stakeholders of the UM shuttle systems to gain information regarding what their experiences were using the shuttle system and what they like and do not like about it. We asked questions regarding what mode of transportation they use to get to and from class, the application tools they use to get information about bus times, overall problems and concerns they have about the current shuttle systems/applications, and what they think would be helpful to improve the application tools.
Observation Process
Our team conducted 2 hours worth of observations and took notes individually in different bus stop locations: Stamp Slip, Art/Soc, UClub, and Richie. We observed work activity and rituals of students that take the bus in different time periods. Most of our observation notes, however, are not displayed in our affinity diagram, since we believe our charts are best described by the face-to-face interviews we conducted with students.
